The Conditions or Avasthas The degree of planets plays an important role in determining the level of impact on the horoscope. Each planet is placed at a specific degree. The thirty degrees of a zodiac sign are divided into five equal parts which are called baladi avasthas and each of these parts carries a different significance. There are five avasthas or conditions a planet can be in. Each of these five conditions provides the planet with a different strength or rate of influence.
